GeoMate at MOVE America 2025: Exploring the Next Era of Autonomous Mobility

GeoMate's business team travelled to Detroit to represent GeoMate at MOVE America 2025!

Our team arrived the night before the conference to get settled into their accommodations…

…and to catch some much-needed pre-conference hockey.

Safe to say, it was a stress-free evening for two Leafs fans + Mahir (our account executive who had never been to a hockey game before).

The next morning, though, the real work began.

GeoMate had a booth set up when our team arrived, where our team was able to connect with partners and introduce themselves to any new faces.

Hinting at the launch of our RealSimE technology (coming early 2026), our team showcased the platform’s capabilities for AV simulations in AD and ADAS systems. With industry leaders at every turn, we were excited to begin unveiling our investment in the future of autonomy.

As the team chatted with colleagues, one thing stood out from the conference’s interest in the future of AVs:

While autonomous driving has yet to dominate the roads, industry innovators have clearly begun to look towards a future of intelligence in mobility of all kinds.

What does this mean?

For one, it means the future of autonomous driving will not be limited to cars.

For another (and for GeoMate), it means the mapping potential for intelligent mobility and sensory data will be endless, with MOVE giving us a headstart in preparing for what that might look like.

Whether it be charging ecosystems, new AV designs, or changing developments in smart city planning, mobility solutions will be intelligent, which will pave the way for increased opportunity in innovation in the coming years.

These discoveries came from a fulfilling day of conversations, meetings and sessions; thus, by day’s end, as you can imagine, our team was hungry. So, they made a pit stop before heading to the conference’s evening mixer:

Our team would like to shout out Grandma Bob’s Detroit-style pizza; it was incredible. If you’re ever in Corktown, give them a try. Oh, and the mixer was awesome.

Hundreds of people (if not more) joined for food, drinks and casual conversations that rivalled the conference in terms of productivity.

Early on, attendees were also greeted by a flash mob, which really set the tone for the rest of the night.

The following day was similar to the first: great conversations and plenty more new faces.

Overall, GeoMate’s experience at the conference was a positive one, and equally noteworthy was our team’s experience of Detroit, which the team wanted to commend for the comeback story the city is currently writing.

As many know, in the years following the automotive boom, Detroit earned a lacklustre reputation, particularly from a socioeconomic perspective.

However, the tides seem to be turning; while our team visited Detroit for just a few days, they were blown away by the comfort of its environment, the kindness of its residents and the historical beauty poking its head out from under the rubble.

Detroit’s self-reclamation has seemingly transformed it into a leading hub for startups in the US, and as we move towards an efficient world of sustainable mobility solutions, the city may just pop up on your radar.

It will certainly be on ours.
